Toshiba updates Satellite K16, K11, and J61 laptops

Toshiba's rolling out a refresh to a couple of its Satellite laptops, bumping up the specs in its K16, K11, and J61 models and offering a variety of configurations in each. The K16 (not so subtly identified above) and the K11 are similar in appearance, each with 15.4-inch WXGA displays, but quite a bit different on the inside, with the K16 packing either T7200 or T5500 Core 2 Duo processors, 40GB hard drives, up to 2GB of RAM (512MB standard), and integrated WiFi with the higher-end config -- although for some reason that's dropped if you opt for the less powerful processor. The K11, on the other hand, takes things down to the Celeron level, with a 1.73 GHz M 430 processor, Radeon Xpress 200M graphics, 512MB RAM, a 40GB hard drive, and a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive. On the squarer side of things, the J61 (check it after the break) offers a non widescreen 15-inch display, with either XGA or SXGA+ resolutions depending on the configuration, along with your choice of Core Duo T2500 or Celeron M 430 processors, 512MB (up to 2GB) RAM, CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drives, and integrated WiFi. All should be available (in Japan) sometime next month, ranging in price from 174,300 Yen($1,500) for the lowest-end K11 to 268,800 Yen (approx $2,300) for the top-end J61.
